Disclaimer: Was invited to this place to taste their new menu and share feedback.
What happens when a techie (ex banker) and a decorated MBA with consulting experience come together. They weave magic and if it is in the food space they can work wonders. We experienced it this Saturday evening when we visited the three and a half month old Cafe Farmout. The name says a lot about what is served at this cafe.
All stuff used is organic and sourced from farms around Gurgaon. The bread is specially baked for them at a unit in Okhla.
We were given two sample three amazing sandwiches.
#1: Hammer and Bongs: Vegetarian’s delight with soya chunks macerated in vegetable broth mixed with Panner and served in brown bread. Looked healthy, tasted good but could do with a little more spice. Served with an amazing beetroot and peanut salad with savoury taste and worked as a perfect accompaniment.
#2: Chickenstein: Was my favourite. Honey glazed chicken and marinated with fresh rosemary offered the perfect bite which was sweet, succulent and crunchy at the same time. I would go back to them for this one.
#3: Holy Phishing: Fish marinated with mustard and lemon was sandwiched with some exotic lettuce. A condiment served with it would make the taste perfect for me.
The bread that they use, Baguette, is not the regular bread but a loaf which is crunchy and is an acquired taste but is amazing and very healthy. They ensure it is fresh at all times.
The outlet offers seating on ground and first floor and it very cosy and comfortable. I could sense positive energy in the space which is very relaxed and laid back.
They offer some great salads on the menu and drinks, coffee etc but I did not take any for this visit. Heard their Basil mint lemonade and watermelon coolers are very good.
Would go back for Chickenstein, the fancy nomenclature of the sandwiches and some drinks and to meet the vibrant store owners who offer good company.
I loved the space, a must try when at Galleria. They offer home delivery as well. What more could you ask for.
