4 Names you can never spell correctly in the first attempt.
Disclaimer: This post is not supposed to demean any name, cast, creed, religion, region etc. It is just to show my incompetency to spell certain names correctly no matter how hard i try.
Now coming to the background: I have worked in a corporate setup for many years and have always felt good sending out emails and thinking that my work is done but then it happens, the mail delivery failure notification where user was not found and delivery failed permanently.
I spoke to other colleagues and they were also facing the same issues. I spoke to people in other companies and it was the same there. So I hired a detective agency and asked them to do an investigation and what they presented really surprised me. There are certain names which you cant get right.
1. Choudhary: Now I am not claiming this is the correct spelling. It can also be spelt as Chaudhary, Chaudhury, Choudhury and Choudhary. Appeal to the parents to please agree on one and accordinlgy use else have it entered in the dictionary.
2. Mukherjee: It could as well ne Mukerji, Mukerjee, Mukherji. Let me reiterate, I have nothing against bengalis. Its just that it is tough.
3. Agrawal: This one takes the cake. I challenge you to do it right the first time and I will write this blog in your name in my will (don’t have anything else). Now let us see the versions:
Agarwal, Agrawal, Aggarwal, Agarwala, Aggarwaal, Agarwaal and many more. What’s the logic behind this if I may know and what does it mean? Let me know if you know.
4. Chakravarty: Again, I have nothing against East India but this one is tough. How do you spell it? Chakravarty, Chakraborty, Chakkarvarty, Chuckarbutty, Chukrabarty etc etc. Who is behind all this, would like to get acquainted.
One suggestion to all parents, please keep it simple.
Verma, Sharma, Tiwari, Singh, Ali, Gupta are so much easier.
If you know of any more which are creating trouble, bring them to my notice.
Good one! enjoyed it. I think Khan is also very easy 😉
